description
New Wave emphatically represents the experimental dimension of Studio Lukas Cober and explores the possibilities of fibreglass in a startling yet subtle way. The elegant sculptural objects embody a movement that on the one hand seems to refer to flowing water, but mostly reflects a fluid process of creation and the flux of motion with which the material was processed into its distinctive appearance. Layer by layer, the fibreglass is applied and as patiently shaped and sanded. The works, as utile as they are expressive, enchant with their muted appearance and the enigmatic interplay between transparency and opacity that makes their presence nearly elusive.
The objects vary in size, appearance and finish. Each piece is freehand shaped. Therefore each object can slightly differ in details and will be an individual piece on its own. The Resin is tinted and the surface is finished to a satin surface. Depending on the light intensity the material becomes slightly translucent.
