description
My current body of work is a series of porcelain figures with removable masks that both distort and exaggerate the body. I use a combination of glazes, painting and found or fabricated objects to create a narrative for each figure. By grouping the figures together, the open-ended narratives can sometimes feel like a waking dream. The manipulation of scale and use of masks act as metaphors for an inner dialogue, heightening the emotive life of the work.
