Silver

description

Not many silver butter dishes were made in Amsterdam in the eighteenth century. Only three other have been recorded, one made by Wilhelmus Angenendt in 1776 and two made by Reynier Brandt in 1779. It is possible that the design of butter dishes with a cow finial originated in England. There are only a few known butter dishes from the Low Countries, however they display a flower finial.
