The collection of Frides Laméris is very broad. Roman glass with subtle colors is very different from the colorless Venetian glass with elegant shapes of the festive splendor of the eighteenth-century crystal. There is Chinese blue and white porcelain from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, and a collection of tiles from the Netherlands, but also specimens from Spain and Syria. There also is a small collection of objets d'art.
The firm is a family business. It was founded by Frides Laméris and Trudy Laméris-Essers in 1963 at Prinsengracht 801. In 1964, the firm moved to the current building in the Nieuwe Spiegelstraat 55. The shop is runned by the couple's three children Kitty, Anna and William, respectively employed since 1993, 1994 and 2003.
Frides Laméris died in 2003 The couple Laméris years was expert at the television program "Tussen Kunst en Kitsch" where they were experts on glass and porcelain. Since 2006 Kitty Laméris participates in 'Tussen Kunst en Kitsch' as an expert in the field of glass and tile.
