Mark Smit Kunsthandel located in the former town hall of Ommen, specialises in 19th and 20th century paintings. Together with his wife, Anna Smit-Loor, the lawyer Mark Smit set up his own art dealership in 2002. Mark Smit is a registered appraiser 19th century paintings.

The collection of paintings from 1820-1970 is one of the largest and most varied in Holland. The 19th century is represented by almost all the great names of the Romantic School, the Hague School and the Amsterdam Impressionists. For the 20th century paintings, the emphasis is on the expressionists and cobra.
