description

Just 15 minutes from Maastricht, this fantastic house stands in the heart of the charming village of Geulle aan de Maas, a small village in the municipality of Meerssen. Across from the house, golden wheat fields sway in the summer months, set against a breathtaking landscape. The old rectory of Geulle, a listed national monument, sits on a spacious plot of 2,500 m², boasting a beautiful, geometrically designed "French garden" at both the front and rear of the property, just as it was over 200 years ago.

The rectory is, unsurprisingly, located right next to the stunning Sint Martinus Church, with its garden and cemetery, parts of which date back to the 11th century. You’ll have peaceful neighbors in every sense. The same goes for Kommelderweg, a dead-end street with minimal traffic. The rectory is built in the traditional “Maasland style,” featuring a prominent saddleback roof and beautiful windows and entrances framed in Namur stone. The French garden at the front and back is a rare gem, considering most French gardens in the Netherlands have long since been replaced by English landscape designs. Here, time seems to have stood still, making this home a unique historical treasure.

Pastoral in the green

It hardly gets more idyllic than this rectory in Geulle (L).
